Sam Shepard (1943-2017) a vu son travail prolifique d'écrivain et de dramaturge couronné par de nombreux prix, comme l'Obie Award, le New York Drama Desk Award et le prestigieux Pulitzer. Acteur, il a été nominé aux Oscars ; scénariste et réalisateur, il a remporté le Golden Palm Award. Deux recueils de nouvelles sont disponibles chez Robert Laffont dans la collection « Pavillons Poche » : Balades au paradis (2016), et À mi-chemin (2016).
